An 8-week creative wellbeing programme in Malta, bringing together creativity, psychological insight and meaningful conversation.
Explore the programmeEach week, you’ll explore a different theme through photographs, magazines, image and word cards, journalling, prompts and other creative exercises. The activities are thoughtfully selected and facilitated by a warranted psychotherapist, offering different ways of noticing, exploring and making sense of what comes up.
There is space to share and connect with others, but also space to reflect quietly and follow your own process. You choose how much you want to share.
No artistic ability needed. No pressure to have the answers.
Each week offers different themes to explore through images, words, creative exercises and journalling. There is no right way to create; the focus is on curiosity, exploration and discovery.
Psychological insight, guided prompts and reflective questions support deeper exploration, reflection and self-understanding.
Making Room is intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 6–8 participants. The same group attends weekly, allowing familiarity, trust and meaningful connection to develop over time.
You may feel busy or on autopilot, be moving through a period of change, crave something more meaningful, or simply value intentional space for yourself.
You’re not alone. Many of us are carrying a lot and quietly craving a bit more space.
I need to pause.
I feel stretched.
I give and give.
It’s time to be on
the receiving end.
I want to decompress.
I am curious.
Life is too fast
right now.
I need to remind myself
that I live, not only exist.
I need a break
from the daily routine.
I need to de-stress.
I want to maximise
my potential.
I matter.
Come in. Leave the week at the door.
There’ll be tea, coffee and something good to nibble on. Materials will be laid out and ready. Pens, cards, magazines, scissors, prompts are all sorted. You just need to arrive, find your spot and get comfortable.
There’s room to play, ponder, chat, create, laugh, go quiet, change your mind, make a mess of the magazines — and see what comes up.
Come in. Get comfortable. I’ve made room for you.

Each week explores a different theme, with space to create, reflect and connect along the way
I notice where I am
I recognise what is strong in me
I understand what I feel
I discover how to support myself
I clarify what matters
I explore how I relate and connect
I decide where I want to go
I bring it together and move forward
Making Room brings together creativity, reflection and psychological insight in a relaxed, supportive setting. It is a space to get curious about yourself, explore what matters to you and discover new ways of looking at things without needing to have a problem to solve.
While Making Room is developed and facilitated by a warranted psychotherapist, it is not therapy. You will not be asked to analyse yourself, disclose personal experiences or arrive with something that needs fixing. Instead, psychological ideas offer another way to explore, reflect and get curious.
No artistic experience is needed either. Just come as you are, with curiosity and a willingness to explore.
If you’re experiencing significant psychological distress or feel you need individual mental health support, please contact an appropriate healthcare or mental health professional.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 112. Additional support in Malta is available through Supportline 179 and Kellimni.com.
Curiosity, creativity and psychological insight — brought together in one space.
As a child, I was curious, active and asked ‘why?’ for probably much longer than I should have — or maybe not. That curiosity eventually developed into a fascination with people, human behaviour and psychology, and ultimately led me to psychotherapy.
For over 10 years, I have had the privilege of being trusted with people’s stories and experiences through my work as a psychotherapist. Creativity, meanwhile, has always had a place in my life. I have found it through imagination and creative writing, visual and performing arts, experimenting with different ways of doing things, and in the way I think about and approach my work.
Over time, I became increasingly curious about what might happen outside the traditional therapy room when psychological ideas meet creativity, reflection and meaningful conversation. The idea lingered somewhere in the background for years, but I never intentionally did anything about it.
Then, in 2025, I became a mother. Motherhood brought change on many levels. It made me look more closely at my own needs, interests, priorities and the parts of myself that I wanted to continue nurturing and growing. It also made me increasingly aware of how easily, amongst the demands and noise of everyday life, we can lose the space to stop and pay attention to ourselves. And somewhere in all of that, Making Room began to take shape.
I wanted to create something that offered people intentional time away from everyday demands: a space to explore themselves and their wellbeing without needing to be in therapy, without needing to have a problem to solve, and without needing to arrive with any answers.
I do not believe self-understanding always comes from thinking harder. Sometimes a photograph, a word, a creative exercise, a conversation or simply having the space to pause can help you notice something you had not been aware of before.
That is what I hope to create through Making Room: space to slow down, get curious and, in the process, make room for what matters.

No. Making Room is a creative wellbeing and personal-development programme. It is developed and facilitated by a warranted psychotherapist and draws on psychological ideas, but it is not psychotherapy or psychological treatment.
No. You do not need to have a particular problem or reason for attending. Making Room is also for people who simply value self-understanding, reflection, creativity and personal growth.
No. You choose how much you want to share. Some activities involve conversation and reflection, but there is no expectation to disclose personal experiences, and you are always free to pass.
You are encouraged to participate at your own pace. You can adapt an activity, take a pause or choose not to participate in a particular exercise. There is no expectation to push yourself beyond what feels appropriate.
Participants are asked to respect one another’s privacy and not share identifiable information or personal stories from the group outside the sessions. As with any group setting, however, confidentiality between participants cannot be absolutely guaranteed.
Not at all. Making Room is not an art class, and there is no expectation to create anything ‘good’. The creative activities are simply different ways of exploring ideas, experiences and wellbeing. You can approach them in your own way and at your own pace.
Yes. The creative materials used during the sessions are provided, so you do not need to bring art supplies or prepare anything beforehand.
Mostly, just yourself. You may want to bring a notebook or journal if you have one you enjoy using, although this is not a requirement.
Because Making Room is an eight-week programme, each session contributes to the overall experience.
